Students report live from Chinese GP - Andrew Noakes - Motoring Writer

Coventry University journalism graduate Jason Craig and student Victoria Howe reported from today's Chinese Grand Prix on a live blog at (above).

The Sauber team provided special access for the pair on race day at the Shanghai International Circuit, allowing them to report on the fortunes of Sauber and the other F1 teams during the race, which was won by McLaren's Jenson Button.

Automotive journalism students Alex Kersten, Mark Rainford, John O'Brien and Daljinder Nagra also contributed to reporting of the race weekend both on the CUToday blog and in newsletters to be distributed among students at the Zhejiang University of Media and Communications (ZUMC).

The students secured interviews with numerous F1 figures, including Bernie Ecclestone, David Coulthard, Martin Brundle and (McLaren team principal) Martin Whitmarsh.

All the students are in the middle of a two-week visit to ZUMC, based in Hangzhou to the west of Shanghai, where they are working alongside Chinese students on a variety of media projects.

Thanks to Sven Schäfer of Sauber for making this project possible.
