Sir Stirling Moss returned to racing at the Silverstone Classic in July 2010, four months after breaking both ankles in an accident at his home. Moss shared his 1956 1.5-litre OSCA with Ian Nuthall. Moss was racing in the RAC Woodcote Trophy, for 1950s sports cars Moss and the OSCA leave the Silverstone pits. Moss was clad in his trademark Dunlop overalls and period helmet. The OSCA carried the racing number 7, the number Moss has always used in his racing career. After starting 33rd on the grid, the OSCA rose to 19th overall to lead its class. A gearbox problem forced Moss to retire just 10 minutes from the end of the one-hour race. Sir Stirling Moss with his wife Lady Susie, signing an autograph from his wheelchair.
