What Car? is looking for a new Features Editor who will be responsible for the title's consumer features both online and in print. It'll be your job to write and commission features and play a big part in how they should be illustrated. You'll also have responsibility for our deals and helpdesk content and be expected to represent What Car? at industry events. You might also find yourself in front of a TV camera talking about various consumer-related issues. Person SpecificationWe're looking for someone who's an original and creative thinker, not only in terms of ideas generation, but also how features should be presented. You'll have a good understanding of the needs of today's car buyer and have the ability to put yourself in their shoes, whether it's a family buying an MPV or a young person buying a hot hatchback. You'll also have a good understanding of how car buyers consume modern media. You'll be an excellent writer who can also get involved in all aspects of magazine and website production, ensuring the finished product on page (paper or electronic) is perfectly honed, getting the story across in an interesting and informative way. Some experience of managing staff would be useful, too.You'll also be comfortable interviewing senior car industry figures or members of the government, and be just as comfortable being interviewed on Radio Four's Today programme. |
