The 10,000th example of Porsche's newest model, the Panamera, rolled off the line in Leipzig today. The Panamera, a top of the range Turbo in platinum silver metallic, will be delivered to a customer in Singapore.

It's taken just three months for the Panamera to reach this production milestone.

Porsche plans to build 20,000 Panamera each year at the Leipzig plant, where it shares a production line with the company's most popular car, the Cayenne SUV.

“Sales of the Panamera have really taken off,” said Michael Macht, chairman of Porsche AG. “We have already secured over 9,000 orders.”

So far the mid-range Panamera 4S, which costs from £77,269 in the UK, is the most popular of the three models taking 44 per cent of sales. The £95,298 Panamera Turbo has attracted 36 per cent of buyers, with the £77,266 Panamera S taking 20 per cent of orders.
