Just two days after releasing pictures of its Cygnet city car concept, Aston Martin has announced two special edition cars in its more usual supercar territory. The new 'Carbon Black' special edition cars are based on the DBS and V12 Vantage.
Both cars are finished in a special Carbon Black metallic paint with a 'subtle metallic twist to create a deep rich patina,' which takes 50 man hours to apply.
The V12 Vantage Carbon Black (above) has carbon fibre (instead of bright aluminium) side strakes on its front wings, gloss black 10-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels (below) and a bright grille. Front parking sensors, normally an option on the V12 Vantage, are standard.
The interior continues the black theme, with piano black facia and centre console trim, and Obsidian Black leather, highlighted with a contrast silver coarse stitching. Both Carbon Black special edition cars feature carbon fibre/Kevlar seats which are 17kg lighter than standard.
V12 Vantage Carbon Black Edition buyers also get a free day's tuition at Aston Martin’s Performance Driving Course.
Prices of the Carbon Black Edition cars will not be announced until the new year, but are expeted to be approximately 5% more than the standard cars, which would make the V12 Vantage Carbon Black about £142,000 and the DBS Carbon Black (pictures below) about £175,000.
