About me
Saturday, 16 June 2007

I'm a journalist, photographer and author with more than a decade of experience in automotive publishing. Much of my work is on classic cars, motoring history and technical subjects, but I also write new car road tests, consumer features and interviews.

I did a degree in Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University, and freelanced for car magazines such as Car Design & Technology, Practical Motorist and Car Mechanics before joining Fast Car in 1994. In 1996 I was launch editor of Retro, and later reworked that magazine as Classics, which I ran as editor and later editor in chief until 2002.

Since then I've been freelance, and have written or contributed to 20 books on cars and motorsport. I've written for car magazines, industry journals, newspapers and websites. In 2011 I established the online automotive technology magazine Cartechnical.co.uk, and I also teach automotive journalism at Coventry University.
