I'm a motoring journalist, photographer, author and journalism lecturer with more than 15 years' experience in automotive publishing. Much of my work is on classic cars, motoring history and technical subjects, but I also write new car road tests, consumer features and interviews.

I worked for Fast Car magazine as technical editor and deputy editor then edited the classic car titles Retro and Classics before going freelance. Since then I've written or contributed to more than a dozen motoring books and I've produced motoring features for car magazines, newspapers, industry journals, customer magazines and motoring websites.

Since 2006 I've spent part of my time teaching on Coventry University's postgrad Automotive Journalism course which has produced journalists who now work on Autocar, Auto Express, What Car?, cardesignnews.com and as freelances in print and online.
